Currencies and exchange rates

can directly charge cards in many major currencies, but there are times when converting a charge into another currency is necessary. The following currencies can be charged directly:

• JPY Japanese Yen
• USD United States Dollar

When attempting to use a different currency, it will automatically be converted to the currency of your primary bank account. If the bank account’s currency is also unable to be charged directly, it will default to JPY, Japanese Yen. Your customer’s billing statement will be listed in the currency the charge was converted to. Please notify your customers if their charges are expected to be converted to another currency.

You can control this currency conversion by the store configuration or by the only_direct_currency parameter at create a charge.

If you are making a qr_scan charge, all charges will be converted to CNY, Chinese Yuan.
